GIMIK – Green Insect Management Innovation and Knowledge – Protecting Our Resources

GIMIK is a 5 year multi-partner, pan-Atlantic ACOA-AIF project that brings together regional leaders (academic and commercial) from the forestry and agricultural sector.   The project Lead, Dr. Kirk Hillier, is a Professor with Acadia's Biology Department. 

The goal of the project is to develop innovative pheromone pest management tools as a viable alternative to chemically based pesticides and insecticides - Providing real alternatives for controlling insect pests in agriculture and forestry within Atlantic Canada, Canada and beyond.
