Wine Quality Specialist Neslihan Ivit Joins ICE

The Office of Industry and Community Engagement (ICE) is pleased to announce Neslihan Ivit’s arrival on the Acadia campus.

Neslihan has been hired for a two-year term as a Wine Quality Specialist by Perennia Food and Agriculture Inc. Perennia is a not-for-profit corporation that helps farmers, fishermen and food processors be prosperous and profitable. They have a team of more than 30 specialists. making them one of most comprehensive and wide-ranging groups focused on development of the food sector in the Atlantic region.

Neslihan’s position is a unique collaboration between Acadia and Perennia Food and Agriculture Inc. Based at Acadia, she will be working with Acadia researchers, Perennia, and directly with local wineries to maximize the quality of wine produced in Nova Scotia.

Neslihan holds an MSc of Viticulture and Enology from Montpellier SupAgro (France), Bordeaux Science Agro (France) and Universidad Politecnica de Madrid (Spain). She has a BSc in Food Engineering from Middle East Technical University (Turkey) with an associate degree of Business Management (Turkey) and food science education in University of Bologna (Italy). She has international winemaking experience, including in Napa (California), Chile, Bordeaux (France), Spain and Turkey. She is proficient in 4 languages and she enjoys photography, travelling and blogging about food and wine.
