MSc graduate Danielle Fife receives 3-year NSERC PGS

MSc Biology graduate Danielle Fife (’14) was recently notified that she has been awarded a PhD NSERC for 3 years. The NSERC Postgraduate Scholarship-Doctoral (PGS D) is awarded based on academic excellence, research ability and on the researcher’s communication, interpersonal, and leadership abilities.

Danielle has 4 peer-reviewed journal papers already from her work at Acadia and is currently working at Nelson Mandela Metropolitan University in South Africa, using samples from sites in Canada and South Africa.  She continues to be co-supervised by Dr. Mark Mallory, Canada Research Chair in Coastal Wetland Ecosystems at Acadia University.

Dr. Mallory enthusiastically describes Danielle as “… a fantastic field worker, a key sparkplug in my lab, and a really productive scientist.  A very, very deserving scholar”.

Congratulations Danielle and Dr. Mallory!

The NSERC PGS Program provides financial support to high-calibre scholars who are engaged in doctoral programs in natural sciences or engineering.
