Rural N.S. Entrepreneur Selected for Canadian Technology Accelerator Award

Singolar, (formerly, Adroit Vista) has been selected by the Canadian Technology Accelerator (CTA) platform, to participate in the Onboarding / Business to Business program in Silicon Valley.

The program will host 12 Canadian companies at RocketSpace Inc. in San Francisco, USA, and Singolar is the only Atlantic Canadian company that was selected to participate.

“The accelerator will provide a huge advantage for Singolar to grow in the US. Canadian Trade Commissioner Service,” said Suman Kalyan, founder, Singlolar. “It’s providing excellent support to start ups like Singolar to sell their products and services globally.

The program is designed to provide Canadian entrepreneurs access to contacts and resources that can accelerate international growth based business.  The intensive mentoring component will include business modelling, competitor intelligence, business development and customer strategies, accessing financing and engaging strategic partners.

Singolar founder, Suman Kalyman is originally from India and has worked internationally with top multi-national telecommunications companies. In 2013, he moved to Bridgewater, NS from Halifax, and was recruited by Dr. Danny Silver, Director of the Acadia Institute for Data Analytics, to become a tenant in the Rural Innovation Centre.

“Suman and his team at Singolar offer a unique blend of technical and business knowledge and experience in the areas of data analytics and business intelligence,” says Dr. Silver.   “They understand how to capture, analyze and extract business insights from customer data that has been acquired from multiple channels of interaction with a company. I and one of my graduate students have been fortunate to work with Suman on a novel machine learning project.  Having completed his education, that student is now working full time with Singolar in Wolfville on predictive and prescriptive analytics.”

Suman commutes to Acadia twice a week, when he is not away on business. His son is currently a student at Acadia and a budding entrepreneur.

Suman was attracted to work in the Rural Innovation Centre at Acadia because of the faculty, research opportunities, and connections to students for co-op and work terms. He has grown his company rapidly over the last 10 months, and now has a full-time employee, and two co-op students based in Wolfville, and two additional employees who are based in the US. His aim is to have ten full time employees in Wolfville by the end of 2016.

In November 2015, Singolar signed a partnership with Azorus Inc. to pilot an enhanced customer relationship management (CRM) recruitment tool with three universities: Warwick (United Kingdom), Leicester (UK), and Ryerson (Ontario, Canada). Once testing is complete, the software will be sold to universities and colleges globally.

Singolar gives companies access to advanced intelligence to enable smarter strategic and business transformation. Advanced intelligence improves the customer experience and related business outcomes such as brand protection, loyalty, cost of acquisition, customer lifetime value and cost savings.
